The Musikplattform is the association of hobby musicians at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich and is intended for all students and staff members of both universities. To become an official member one needs to register using their ETH or UZH email.

Music is a great way to unwind from the stress in the academic life. It is important that musicians have the possibility to network and to perform in front of an audience, so that they can share their passion with other like-minded individuals. This is line with the ideas of a former student and professor in Zurich: «Kreativität ist ansteckend. Gib sie weiter. (Creativity is contagious. Pass it on)» (Albert Einstein)

Our goals and offerings

We organise opportunities for hobby musicians at the ETH and Uni Zurich to perform, meet each other, jam and learn. Check out the calendar, to find out when the next events will take place!

The Musikplattform membership is free and accessible for people having an ETH or UZH email. The registered members can easily find and contact other musicians through the Music Network. They can also post «ads» on our bill-board to find fellow musicians to participate in their next project.

By signing up on the music network you can also receive a newsletter, where you stay up-to-date with an overview of all music-related activities happening on campus. And don’t forget to join the Whatsapp chat of our community (link is shown after the login).

In the «Other Communities» part of the webpage you can find the centralised list of all active music groups such as orchestras, choirs, bands, etc. at ETH and UZH and how to contact them. We also keep a list of external offerings and discounts – check them out!

For any questions, suggestions and criticism you can contact us via email. The Musikplattform is completely run by volunteers and we are always looking for helping hands. So please feel free to contact us if you are interested in helping us out!

Also, we are currently establishing a new repertoire of events, so if you have ideas on events you would like to see us organise, please contact us, just be prepared to help lead the organisation of your idea.
