The Philippines’ main business-process outsourcing group cut its industry revenue and job forecasts — and even warned of possible shrinking future business — with the emergence of artificial intelligence, shifting geopolitical conditions and increased competition. The 400-member IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines now projects the industry’s revenues to reach $50.5 billion by 2028 and headcount to total 2.14 million under its best-case scenario, Jack Madrid, the group’s president, said a media briefing on Tuesday. In 2022, when the group crafted the industry’s road map, it expected revenues of $59 billion and jobs rising to 2.5 million by 2028.
